The June 2020 Black Lives Matter protests which took place at the Cenotaph and Winston Churchill memorial in London triggered national debate United Kingdom regarding roles that memorials play urban spaces. Stoked by media sensationalism, public discourse action became increasingly vitriolic weeks following protests.
